Helping Hand Building

Our Mission

To compassionately cultivate community and provide essential needs and resources such as food, clothing, household items, personal care products, and basic human needs.

The Helping Hand is no longer accepting furniture.

We have outgrown our ability to house furniture and are focusing on providing food and clothing to our community.

Visit to receive fresh, nutritious food in a safe, welcoming space. We’re here to support you with no judgment and no overwhelming barriers.

Visit for free, quality items that fit your style and season. No appointments, no hassle, just help when you need it.

Looking for additional support beyond food and clothing? Explore our list of trusted community resources offering help with housing, healthcare, utilities, and more.

HyVee Receipts

Would you consider donating your Hy-Vee receipts to support our cause? For every $100,000 in receipts we collect, we receive $350 in store credit from the Indianola Hy-Vee. It's a simple way to help that makes a big difference! You can drop off your receipts at Helping Hand during donation hours or at the East Entrance of the Indianola Library. Thank you for your support!
